How to Save Money on iPads, iPhones, iPods, Macbooks and Apple Products

Apple products are attractive and easy to use, but they could be expensive. Here are simple ways to save money on Apple products.

Apple Store for Education
If you are a college or university student, college or university staff member, or K-12 school faculty or staff, you could shop at the Apple Store for Education. Before you could shop, you would have to declare that you meet the eligibility requirements. Please note that not all Apple products, such as the latest ones, cost less in the Apple Store for Education.

Apple Store for Corporate or Government Employees
Many government departments and large corporations have arrangements with Apple for special prices. Here is a link to the US Apple Store for Government: http://www.apple.com/r/store/government/. Similar to the Apple Store for Education, before you could shop, you would have to declare that you meet the eligibility requirements. Again, not all Apple products cost less in the government or corporate employee stores.

To find out if you could shop at the corporate or government employee store, contact your human resources or IT department to see if your organization has an “Employee Purchase Program” or EPP with Apple. If so, there should be a link for you to access the Apple EPP store.

Online Stores that Offer Discounts and Specials on Apple Products
There are online retailers that will sell for less than the Apple’s suggested retail prices. Try MacMall, which is an authorized Apple reseller offering full Apple warranty. For some products, these online sites provide better deals than Apple store itself.

Stores that Give Points and Air Miles
If you do not qualify for any of the aforementioned programs or if you do not wish to shop online, then one of your options is to shop at a store that will give you points or airmiles.

Here are two options for you to consider:
1. Shop at a store that will give you points. For example, Best Buy in Canada and US have the free Reward Zone membership program that reward you with points points for shopping there.

2. If you cannot find a store that offer rewards, then purchase gift cards at a store that will give you points for buying gift cards. For example, in Canada, Safeway gives Air Miles for buying gift cards. Buy enough gift cards to cover the prices and taxes of the Apple products. Then, use the gift cards to buy your Apple products.
