McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada has a long history of supporting athletes. We are proud to be among them, and especially proud to be the ambassadors for the new McDonald’s 2010 Hopefuls program.
This program supports 26 amateur athletes who are training intensively in their respective winter sports to realize their Olympic dream at the 2010 Vancouver Games.
Come and discover the stories of these athletes, who come from across Canada. On the site, you’ll find out about their progress and their aspirations, and you can even encourage them with a personalized e-mail.
McDonald’s will be providing support until 2010 by awarding grants, a portion of which will be awarded to the athlete’s family, to give it a well-deserved pat on the back for their efforts and commitment on the journey of the athletes to the pinnacle of their sport.
For athletes who have devoted their lives to perfecting their skills for an Olympic medal, there are many high points along the journey, as well as tribulations, setbacks and discouragement, and this is when public support becomes invaluable.
At the Games, when the moment has finally arrived, it’s essential to feel the presence of the people who have believed in you since the very beginning, who have supported you unconditionally ever since you started to believe in your dream. And it’s at this time we want them around to experience this unforgettable moment with us.”
